You Don’t Need to be Perfect for God to Use You

We often look at our fallacies and think we fall short of what God would want from us. We are in good company. As we look at some of the heroes of the bible they weren’t perfect. Moses told God he was not eloquent in speech. God still used him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.

Exodus 4:10 (NIV)

Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.

Paul had his weaknesses and he realized that he depended on Christ even more because of his weaknesses.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NIV)

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Our weaknesses can be used to glorify our Heavenly Father because it is so obvious, we cannot do it on our own. I have started to look at my weaknesses as a way to show God’s strength and a way to remind myself to continuously rely on Him. This truth has given me so much peace because it takes my weaknesses out of my own hands.
