“Take Care of our Relationship with God”

John 14:21 (NIV)

21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.

Who do we try to please in our life? Your friends……Society……..God. It can be a trap to try and please people instead of God. We invest a lot of energy trying to please society and probably not enough energy trying to please God.

God says if we love Him, we will be obedient to His commands. This will keep our relationship with God in harmony. In 1 Samuel, it tells us that God desires our obedience over sacrifice.

1 Samuel 15:22 (NIV)

22 But Samuel replied:

“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

One thing I have found out in my life. If I take care of my relationship with God, this filters down into my other relationships in my life. For example, when I am right with God, I am a better husband to my wife, I am a better father to my children, I am a better coworker, I am a better friend.

Seems simple!!!! Take care of your relationship with God and everything else will take care of itself.

21 「有了我的命令又遵守的，这人就是爱我的；爱我的必蒙我父爱他，我也要爱他，并且要向他显现。」

我们在生活中努力取悦的是谁呢？朋友……社会……还是上帝？努力取悦人而不是上帝，可能是一种陷阱。我们花了很多精力去取悦社会，却可能没有花足够的精力去取悦上帝。

上帝说，如果我们爱祂，我们就会遵守祂的命令。这样，我们与上帝的关系才能保持和谐。在《撒母耳记上》中提到，上帝所看重的是顺服，而不是献祭。

22 撒母耳说：「耶和华喜悦燔祭和平安祭，岂如喜悦人听从祂的话呢？听命胜于献祭，顺从胜于公羊的脂油。」

我在自己的生活中发现了一件事：如果我先处理好与上帝的关系，这会影响并改善我生命中其他所有的关系。例如，当我与上帝关系正确时，我会成为一个更好的丈夫、更好的父亲、更好的同事、更好的朋友。

看起来很简单！！！先照顾好你与上帝的关系，其他一切自然会随之而来。
