Our Example is Important
Matthew 5:14 – 16 (NIV)
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Whether we like it or not, all of us are examples. We are examples to our family, friends, co-workers, and strangers we come across. So, the question isn’t whether we are examples or not, but what kind of example are we setting?
What kind of example are we setting? Is your example showing the world that you are a follower of Christ? Are we setting good examples for children to follow? Our world needs good examples for people to follow. We need people to urgently leave footsteps for others to follow that leads them in a closer relationship with God.
1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV)
12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
