Have you ever been in a situation in which you did not listen to something important someone had to say to you? I have been accused of having selective hearing by my wife, but I am not talking about how well we listened to our spouse. Do we listen to what God is saying to us?

God possesses the most profound and complete knowledge in the universe on every topic. He has the wisdom that His children need to solve any problem we have. He is willing to help with all the resources He can provide. But why is it that we don’t always listen to God?

We live in a complex hectic life that makes it so important to listen to God’s Word on how we should live. However, we can get so caught up in our hectic life we don’t always make time for God. If we don’t make time for God, then we are not listening to Him. As in any relationship both talking and listening is vital in order for that relationship to grow. Our relationship to God is no different, we need to talk with Him and Listen to Him. As we nurture our relationship with God then our senses become more sensitive to what God is saying to us.

Psalm 81:

Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you! O Israel, if you will listen to Me!

If we are truly seeking to become more Christ like and striving to make Him Lord of our life, then we are going to hear God’s guidance for our lives.

Matthew 7:24

Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
