Whatever we Sow, we Reap
Part of my youth I lived on a farm in Indiana. Springtime was the time you planted your crops. My dad would rotate his crops in his fields, between corn, soybean, a field of alfalfa (hay), and every now and then he would do oats to mix with grain for feed for our cattle during the winter months.
In the spring you would prepare your fields and sow your seed, this is not a quick process as the crops are not ready for harvest until the fall. Sowing time was so important for my dad that he would take vacation to get his crops in. You depend on nature for rain then cultivate and spray your fields to keep the weeds from taking over your fields and limiting your harvest. The goal would be to reap a good harvest in the fall.
The process of sowing seed and harvesting has been used since mankind’s early history. We would always harvest more seed than what we planted.
In our Christian life we also use the sowing process. For us to walk in fellowship with God and produce Christian fruit, we need to sow good Christian behavior. God will not be mocked, as Christians, we can’t live a ungodly lifestyle and expect to receive Gods blessings and be in fellowship with God.
Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
