“We are Not Alone”
Before He was arrested, tried, and crucified, Jesus used some of His final moments to encourage His followers to reaffirm and strengthen them. Jesus knew His mission on earth was to pay the price of our sins on the cross. As His time was coming to an end, He wanted to give words to encourage His followers.
John 14:26 (NKJV)
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
Jesus was telling His followers that He was going to send them a Helper, the “Holy Spirit”. The Holy Spirit indwells a person who has put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit has multifunctional meanings. It is called the counselor, advocate, comforter, encourager, helper sent by the Father to teach us and guide us.
With the Holy Spirit indwelling believers, we are never alone. So, no matter what we are going through or how lonely or frightened we might feel. God is there. That’s a promise that God has given us; the Holy Spirit will always be with us. We are never alone.
Romans 8:11 (NIV)
11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
