The Peace Only the Lord Can Give
The loss of a loved one. This is always a tough time for anyone to deal with. It brought back memories of the times I said goodbye to both of my parents. It is never an easy time. I want to thank the Lord who gave me peace and comfort during this time.
My last parent to pass away was my dad, Robert “Bob”. The thing that gave me the greatest comfort is that I knew my dad was a Christian. I was with my dad when he took his last breath. I know that the moment he took his last breath on earth he was in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Lord gave me such a peace with this thought when dad passed away. This was great for my dad. He was in the presence of not only his Lord and Savior, but he had a reunion with my mom and other loved ones that have passed away. Wow!!! Imagine what he experienced. There is a Christian song by MercyMe,” I can only Imagine”. The words of that song come alive to me whenever I hear it.
One thing we can count on a Christians when we lose a loved one. Our Lord will comfort us.
Matthew 5:4
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
Our Lord will also give us peace during this time.
Philippians 4:7
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
I can truly say my Lord and Savior gave me peace and comfort during my time of mourning. Even though I had just lost my dad, my Lord gave me a peace, which transcended all understanding.
Wow!!!! The Lord is all powerful.
