Sometimes the answer is No

I have prayed to God over the years on a daily basis and the bible tells us that God hears our prayers.

1 John 5:14

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

OK, so it says that God hears my prayer, but it doesn’t say how God will answer our prayers. I have had some prayers that God’s answer was “NO”. It happens. So, when God answers our prayer with a “NO” how should we handle it. Do we get mad that our prayer’s answer wasn’t what we wanted. Sometimes we question ourselves, such as “did I do something wrong or am I being punished”. That isn’t how we should handle it. I have looked back on some of my prayers that were answered “NO” and I thank God he did not answer my prayer how I wanted. We must trust that God knows what is best for us and his timing is perfect. God might answer our prayer with a “NO”, because He is doing it because He is Sovereign and Omnipotent, and it is not what He wants for us. This is where we must have faith that God’s has a plan for us.

Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So, keep praying and realize, God’s answer might not always be what we want, but trust that God has our best interest at heart.
