“Purpose for your Life”
Terri and I participated in a great study a few years ago. Rick Warrens “40 Days of Purpose”, what a great study. The church we were attending had a church-wide study with small groups. Rick’s study guided us in a study of why God created us and what is our purpose in living.
Exodus 9:16
16 But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
Have you ever wondered what God’s purpose is for you in your life? God’s purpose isn’t always clear for us. Sometimes we wander aimlessly down the path from our own makings. We struggle against God as we try to find joy, happiness, and a purpose in life through our own means not Gods.
God did create us for His purpose. God created us to worship Him. Do we honor God with our worship and praise? He formed us to be part of His family. Once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become part of the family of God. Once we become part of God’s family, He wants us to be involved in Discipleship, it is during this process we become more Christ-like in our walk. God wants our obedience and for us to serve Him. Then God wants us to tell others about His Love, His Grace, and His Mercy for mankind by dying for our sins on the cross.
So, we do have a God given purpose in our lives. We can be professionals with jobs and families and still fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
Psalm 57:2 (NLT)
“I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.”
