Names have great significance in the Bible. The name “Immanuel” means "God is with us". Just imagine what it is like to have God with you. Throughout Bible history great men of faith (Moses, Joshua, David) just to name a few had God with them. Even now if we know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we have God with us. We all had hopes and expectations this year however, due to the economy, health issues, COVID still hanging around, and fuel prices many plans were changed. It affected our schools, sports, our health, people’s jobs, our church worship, travel plans, and how we celebrated holidays. Life will always have disappointments that we will face. The bible gives us many stories of men of faith that faced disappointments. King David was anointed king and yet had to hide from King Saul.

One of the things that can be a struggle for many Christians is that we think we can live the Christian Life on our own self-sufficiently. This is something that God did not intend for us. God wants us to depend on Him alone to live the Christian life. The key to godly living is relying on Jesus to live through us.
