“Truth and Integrity are Valued by God”

Truth and Integrity are characteristics that many of us value in ourselves, and they are things we look for consistently in our leaders. But what does it really mean to have truth and integrity?

The Random House Dictionary defines integrity as:

1. Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.

2. The state of being whole, entire or undiminished.

3. A sound, unimpaired or perfect condition.

Truth and Integrity are also valued by God

Psalm 15:1-2 (NIV)

1 Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?

2 The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart;

Living a life of integrity isn’t always easy. But our Father, who understands our struggles, sent His Spirit to guide us toward godliness. Let’s ask Him to help us become more like the person described in Psalm 15.

God values our righteousness and honesty. To develop and maintain a lifestyle that pleases Him, we must develop integrity and truth as foundations for our life.

Psalm 15:3 (NIV)

3 whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others;

Psalm 15 goes on to tell us that we are to honor those who fear the Lord and to bless others with what God has given us. When we develop Godly integrity and truth, we are developing a life that will withstand the storms in life.

Psalm 15:4-5 (NIV)

4 who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; 5 who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

Whoever does these things will never be shaken.
