“Great Prayer for Yourself or Someone Else”
Have you ever wondered what to pray for someone? This is a prayer for the Christians in Colossae. It comes from Paul’s letter to Colossians.
He is asking the Lord to give them the wisdom to know God’s will for their lives. Wouldn’t we all like to know that. Wisdom would allow them to understand what the Spirit is empowering them to walk in the Spirit and to express the “Fruit of the Spirit” in their lives. That is a good thing for any Christian. Walking a life that is empowered by the Holy Spirit that indwells us should give us a lot to give God praise and thanksgiving for.
Next you time you need to pray for a fellow Christian give it a try.
Colossians 1:9 -12
9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
