Talking with a 2-year-old
When was the last time you talked with a 2-year-old? I have made great strides in communication with little kids. When my granddaughter was 2-year-old she would use one syllable words to mean different things and she is starting to put 2 words together. I understand PaPa, she just says it with difference volumes when she means something different, I must figure out what the different volumes mean. An example of this was when we were going on a family walk. I was walking ahead of her, and we figured she thought I was going to leave her. She came running yelling PaPa with her little arms out, I figured out quick she wanted PaPa to pick her up. When she says “up”, she needs someone to pick her up, usually her momma. I have come to find out “peas” means please. “Dadda hom”, means her Daddy is home. Yes, I am making great strides in 2-year-old communications.
We are so fortunate that our heavenly father knows how to communicate with each one of us. God is always ready to listen anytime we are ready to talk to him. We just need to talk with God like we are talking with our best friend. We have a great benefit of praying to our Creator, our Lord, and our Savior. Just like with my granddaughter communication with me, our prayers to God will change over time as our relationship with God becomes more personal. We look forward to that daily talk with God.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Colossians 4:2
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
Jeremiah 29:12-13
“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
