Success in God’s eyes or in the World’s Eyes
We all want to live a successful life. As Christians it can be confusing as we live in a world that views success in such a different way than God defines success. We can easily get caught up in the trap of following the world’s idea of what success is.
The world values prestige, money, position, power, pride, materialism, egotism, and your looks have to meet a certain standard. In the world’s eyes if you have these things then you must be successful. If these are important why are people so miserable. I am sure we can recall people who seemed to have it all have lost their lives by either taking it or drug overdose.
God’s Word shows us another way of success. The bible is full of wisdom of God that will guide us and teach us God’s principles for leading a successful life in God’s eyes. God’s view on success are people who know God as their Lord and Savior, who have learned to trust God, obey God, and depend on God. Being a follower of God is the pathway for a successful life. The way of faith is the best way to live.
Jeremiah 17:7
But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
