“Perseverance Will Be Rewarded”

Hebrew 10:36 (NIV)

36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Perseverance is a great trait to have. It isn’t easy for us to develop perseverance, but once we get it then we can use it in all parts of our life.

Calvin Coolidge our 30th President once quoted. “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

Jesus is an example of perfect perseverance. Jesus finished what He began. Despite the torture Jesus endured, despite the shame of the cross He was steadfast in His faithfulness to God. We to must be faithful to God in times of difficulty.

We must persevere in our Christian walk. Sometimes we can get in a hurry in our life, we pray and wonder why our prayers have not been answered. Something we need to realize that God is not on our timetable. We must patiently persevere and remember God can handle any problem. Our job is to persevere until He does.

1 Corinthians 9:24-25 (NIV)

24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
