“Words That Change Your Life”
Updated: Sep 29
Out West you see rivers that have over time slice through rock, leaving canyons that are hundreds of feet deep. It isn’t necessarily because the river is powerful but because the river is persistent. It is the same way with the Bible. It takes time to read and reflect on God’s Word, and it will take time to impact our lives without us knowing it. In Psalm 19, David writes about some of the life changing effects of God’s Word.
Psalm 19:7-8 (NIV)
7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
God promises to reveal Himself to you when you seek Him. God won’t force Himself into our lives. So, ask. Seek after God. Just like the river’s water flow that changes the rock. Let God shape you into His likeness.
Proverbs 8:35 (NIV)
35 For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord.
In Proverbs it says when we find God, we find both life and favor from God. That is a great promise to claim in our lives today. Doing it day in and day out leads to the good life. The good life is one that has been changed by God.
