Obedience brings Blessings
Updated: Jan 11
Luke 11:28
28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
Obedience is the bottom line in the Christian life. When we decide as Christians to be obedient to God then expect a challenge. Satan doesn’t want us to follow God, so he will offer temptations to divert us and weaken our resolve. This is the spiritual warfare we are in every day of our life. I heard in a study that partial obedience is disobedience.
As we start the new year let us strive to be obedient to our Lord and Savior. In life it takes courage to do thing that may bring unwelcome results in the moment. However, remember the long-term blessings will always outweigh the short-term loses. Have you ever heard someone say, “I regret doing what God wanted me to do”? Remember there is a big difference in following men and doing what God is telling you to do.
When you choose to obey the Lord, you will never be disappointed. God will always bless you, obedience leads to blessings. Blessings might not mean financial blessings, but there are spiritual rewards. God will give you a sense of peace and joy that compares to nothing this world has to offer.
So, in this new year, set a goal to obey the Lord and watch how He will work in your life. God knows exactly what is best for you, and what He wants to accomplish in our life. Remember when obeying God, you will never be disappointed.
Psalm 22:5
To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame
