Living the Christian Life
Updated: Mar 23
I have heard some people say that they can’t live the Christian life. You know, they are correct. This may surprise you, but it is impossible for us to live the Christian life in our own power. We can’t do it on our own. The Christian life isn’t something we can do. The Christian life is “Christ in us, the hope of glory” (Col 1:27)
If the Christian life for you is acting like Jesus that is just religion. Performing and trying to be a Christian gets stale, ritualistic, and exhausting after a while. Instead we need to let Jesus live through us. In Philippians it talks about God who will work through us.
Philippians 2:13
13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Jesus Christ is the Christian life.
When we accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior, we died. We are crucified with Christ. It is no longer us who lives, but Christ that lives who loves in us.
Galatians 2:20
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
The Christian life is all about yielding to the living presence of Christ in us by the Holy Spirit. So we can’t live the Christian life under our own power, but the Christian life comes about by yielding to the living presence of Christ who is now within us by His Holy Spirit.
