Daniel showed a lot of resilience and courage in his life. He faced the lion’s den and then had men who plotted against him. Daniel never wavered in his faith. He knew where his true source of power came from and that was God.
As a result of Daniel’s integrity, and God’s blessing he rose above his counterparts. Having the job that he had was not the great thing about Daniel. It was his calling that was his greatness. He loved the Lord with all his heart, and he love others as himself.
Now Daniel so distinguish himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the kingdom.
We should have this same calling to love the Lord with all our hearts and then to love others as ourselves. This is what really matters. If you think about it, jobs come and go and successes and failures will face us all in some form or another. The thing that matters is our calling of loving the Lord with all our hearts and love others as ourselves.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
This is a simple calling, but it is rooted in humility, service, and kindness.
