Have you ever been so busy that you became exhausted? There is nothing to be ashamed of in admitting that you need to rest.
Even God’s greatest people needed to be restored. Elijah after killing 400 prophets of Baal, it looked like he could take on anything. But exhaustion caught up with Elijah. Extreme exhaustion can break us down and can lead to fear, anxiety and allow to become easily depressed.
Elijah needed to be replenished and we are no different. Elijah needed sleep, food, and God’s healing to restore him. God is always close by to lift us up when we reach out to him.
Acts 17:27 (NIV)
27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
God knows how to revive us. So, if you are worn out, tired or exhausted seek after God. One of my favorite chapters in the bible is Psalm 91.
Psalm 91:1-2 (NIV)
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.
So, let’s rest in the Lord today.
